Legend:
  • Because number of visitors is different for every page the order in which the recruiting agents / employers are listed has been calculated as average number of "clicks" in percent of average number of visitors to the page where that link is.

  • A high percentage doesn't necessarily mean that the recruiting agent / employer is a better or more reliable one. Every listing on this website is reliable. A high percentage merely indicates a great majority of my current visitors to each page have been interested in what that "target" offers, may be some special kind of job or training.

In fact the agents / employers on the smaller pages have got disproportionately many "hits", while those on the long pages haven't been that lucky, considering total number of visitors to each page. One consequence of this is that those listed on Offshore Job Links have got a disproportionately low percentage because of the great number of visitors to that page compared with other pages. Therefore there are only a few companies from that page listed.

  • Every month I get a report on how many "clicks" each outgoing link has received, but I do not know who has clicked on what. I don't even know from what part of the world the clicks have come from. Neither do I plant any "cookies" on anybody's computer.

  • I do indicate for each recruiter / employer in what country the head office is, but that doesn't mean possible employment opportunities are located in same country.

  • An asterisk ( * ) after the name shows this is not a recruiter / employer

  • Current up-date covers the period January to June 2011. As a comparison to the last results a ↑ shows the "target" has risen in rank, while a ↓ shows a "target" has dropped in rank. The percentages are only relative numbers without any other meaning than producing the rank. A ± mark indicates no change in rank from previous listing, while nothing at all shows this is a new "target" - not present in the list before.

Compared with the last listing, the job seeking activities have gone up. As a consequence the range between highest and lowest percentage numbers has increased - from 4.76 points difference to 6.31 points between highest and lowest. Because the traffic to the "Offshore Jobs" page has increased more than to other pages all "targets" on that page have dropped out from this list.

When you click on the link in the "Page Name" column you will be taken to the page and place where that recruiting agent / employer is listed. Some recruiters / employers are hiring, not only for their main activity, but also some "peripheral" personnel; for instance a seismic survey company may well hire also some ROV Pilots. Such a company's listing referred to is then the one reflecting their "core business" - in the example mentioned it would be "Offshore Jobs", i.e. seismic survey personnel.

Of course, these percentages doesn't in any way indicate the most important maritime recruiters or employers in any way. Whichever way I count, whether with percent or absolute numbers the result is always distorted because of the big differences in number of visitors to each different page.

Only way to get somewhat "correct" figures would be to calculate each page separately. That would mean on this website more than 10 separate result tables, which would be too much to be of any interest anymore. Isn't that so?
