Please note 1: Jobs Available are changing all the time. I recommend you come back every one to two weeks and check job listings. Please note 4: Philippine seamen's books ( Seafarer's Identification & Record Book ) are issued by Marina. If you have problems getting through to Marina, try alternate source for seaman's book information.

When you see an acronym ( like UN ) put the mouse arrow on top of it and you get an explanation.

Cruise Liner Jobs

Please note 1: Most "hospitality" jobs on luxury cruise liners and passenger ships or ferries - i.e. those where you come in direct contact with the passengers ("Front desk" [information or purser's office], bartenders, waiters, waitresses, and hostesses) - normally require a minimum of two years work experience from an international five star hotel. Because a luxury cruise liner ship is a floating hotel.

Please note 2: None of the listed recruiting agents on this page asks for any placement fee - neither in advance nor later.

  • Because a luxury cruise ship is a floating luxury five star hotel the employment opportunities are much wider than on any other kind of ship. There can easily - on a big cruise liner - be over 1.500 people taking care of the guests (i.e. passengers).

This list is not even complete, only the most common hospitality positions on a luxury cruise ship are mentioned:
"Hotel", Food & Beverage, Restaurant, and Bar Managers - Waiters, Maitre D', Sommelier, Chefs (different kinds), Baker, Barman, Cabin Stewards, Stewardesses, Hostesses, Purser, Receptionist, Cruise Director, Shop Assistant, Hairdresser, Beauty Therapist, Fitness Instructor, Photographer, Medical Doctors & Nurses (male & female), Entertainers, etc.

  • Employment as Musicians and Entertainers on Cruise Liners. For additional links and information go to Cruise Liner Job Links.

  • Princess Cruises: catering and hospitality jobs (male & female), Deck, Engine, and Medical departments do recruit (except from USA) also from Philippines and other countries (entry levels only). Applicants submit résumés by email to: careers"at"princesscruises.com (instead of "at" type @). The employer's agent will contact you.

  • Norwegian Cruise Line employment on non US flagged cruise ships is available for applicants of any nationality. Manila agent recruits also for more than 30 other ship owners. Get application advice (PDF).

  • Star Cruises recruits Filipinos only through their Manila agent for Hospitality positions (see list above) and Maritime positions: Deck Officers and Engineers, deck and engine crew.

Are you still searching for your "dream job" ? If you try my job search engine, type as specific job description as possible. Example: chief officer job vlcc tanker asia. Include the word "job" or "employment", otherwise the search engine doesn't "know" you are looking for a job. When you click on "Search" the search engine will check the current vacancies at all companies listed here.

If you don't find what you look for today, come back next week or the week after. There is a new vacancy every day somewhere in the world.

There are more cruise ship jobs on Cruise Liner Job Links - any nationality can apply to most of them. Hospitality jobs can also be found on super- and mega yachts.

You should also look at Offshore Oil-Gas Drilling Job Links for international offshore oil rig / oil field jobs.

Be aware, there are several employment scams targeting seafarers. Fake job offers with promises of very good salaries are sent to seafarers by e-mail. For details go to the two employment-money scam pages in the menu [to the left]. The worst in the offshore sector, also targeting "regular seafarers" is Caledonian Offshore, known to have offered fake jobs also to Pilipinos.
